Rinpoche gave the following advice regarding a possible legal threat to an FPMT office.

Dear friends,
I request all staff to please recite the Diamond Cutter Sutra five times, because there is an obstacle for the office, which may arise as a legal threat.

Please try to do this as soon as possible, at your convenience. It does not have to be done as a group, just when you have time over the next week.

Averting Legal Action Over Water Supply

A center director advised that a resident on the property may sue over the distribution of the water supply. The director said lengthy negotiations had failed, but he was trying to avert legal action by following the advice of a water supply specialist and a lawyer. Rinpoche gave the following advice to the center director. 

This is what has to be done from the point of view of pujas and practices:

  • Vajra Claws: recite loudly 100 times
  • Court Case mantra: recite 60 times
  • Sampa Lhundrupma (The Prayer to Guru Rinpoche that Spontaneously Fulfills All Wishes): recite 80 times
  • Staff and key people involved should practice tonglen for the person wishing to sue. 

Center Being Sued

Rinpoche gave the following advice to a center that was being taken to court regarding a situation with a tenant.

Dear Zoe
I’m sorry to hear of this difficulty. I checked and it is important to do the following:

  • Recite Vajra Claws every day. Of course, it is better to do this privately in Geshe-la's room or somewhere where it can be seen by our friend.
  • Recite the Diamond Cutter Sutra 60 times.
  • Key staff should wear a protection, especially you (Gyaltsen Tsemoi Pungyen).

Start with these things and I will see if there is anything else. I am going to do a puja now and will include this situation.
